Haacks 19 Laws Of Programming#

Haacked blogs about the 19 laws of programming.

My favorite, and one that I personally know to be very true, is Brooks law:

Adding manpower to a late software project makes it later.

Which can also be stated as:

The bearing of a child takes nine months, no matter how many women are assigned.

I should have bought APPL#
I really feel pretty stupid...

This weekend I read on a few tech blogs that Steve Jobs had invited his friends to attend his keynote address at MacWorld.

Obviously he was going to unveil something very cool, and obviously that "something" was probably going to be the long awaited iPhone.

It was at this point that I moved on to other things, instead of making the next "obvious" step.

Obviously this would cause Apple's stock to go up.

APPL was trading around 85 on Monday and 97 on Wednesday, an increase of 14%.

Maybe next time I will hear news like this and make the final connection :).

GetHuman.com#

Ever wish you knew how to get around those stupid automated messages and talk to a human?

Enter www.GetHuman.com

This website keeps a list of companies, and the shortcuts to get to a human (e.g. "don't press or say anything", "press '#' 3 times", or "press 1, 0, 0")

The Geico / Google Joke#
A while back there was a lawsuit filed by Geico against Google.

They were angry that when people typed in Geico into Google, ads for car insurance would show up on the right under the google adwords program.

I thought this was funny, so I quickly placed an ad for the keyword "Geico," and some guys from this website http://truckandbarter.com/mt/archives/2004/12/geico_sues_goog.html immortalized my joke with the following screen capture:

Gigli.... it gets worse#
As I'm sure you are aware... I had been predicting the flop that is now called Gigli for some before the movie trailers even came out.

Gigli, now in its 3rd week, has dropped to 63rd at the box office, taking in less money than than an IMAX film that is only showing at 3 theaters on the entire planet.

Gigli . . . Worst Movie In History#
I was saying this months ago, before anything with this movie came out.

It seemed so clear to me.

Take two "superstars" that can't act, and that people really *don't* like, put them in a movie together, and then force feed the public daily reports about their love affair and pending marriage. It was clear from day 1 that this movie was doomed.

The people have spoken, the Internet Movie Database currently lists Gigli as THE WORST MOVIE IN THE HISTORY OF FILMS.
